Adult Content and Vista
Alright yesterday when I was doing my rant as I posted it on LJ I noticed a little place that wanted me to flag if what I was writing has adult content. Now the choices they actually give you are “Adult Concepts” and “Explicit Adult Content.” However the catch to it is that they never clarify what is in it in order for it to be flagged these things. Most of my rants and writing are raw with a moderate amount of swearing. However I also write in a way that is very easy for anyone to understand. However I am not sure if some of the topics that I write about could be considered this. LJ should try and do a better job of clarifying what these mean exactly.
According to how movies are rated if you say “Fuck” twice in a movie it is automatically given an “R” Rating. This is such a stupid thing because they act as if teens don’t use the word and don’t even know what it is. So does this mean the same for my rants? If I say “Fuck” again (which I just did) is this rant going to all of a sudden be flagged as having adult content? That doesn’t make any sense. Now if I went around and started posting explicit sex stories, then yeah, that would be considered adult content. However if people go around and think that what I write is explicit adult content should really come to a realization that this is the year 2007. With the internet younger people are going to be exposed to a lot more explicit things.
A few months back I wrote something about Windows Vista at around the time it came out. I noted how there were problems with it and it wasn’t even out yet. Well I am here today to give an updated opinion on it. My opinion on it is that is still sucks and has a lot of flaws. Now you are probably wondering what I am basing this on. I am basing this on what I have heard from other people and how they have felt about it. Now before you go calling me out and saying “but in your last rant you said how ratings don’t matter.” The difference between this and some movie or video game is that most people will use a computer for the same reasons. People are going to know if a computer locks up or if it is really confusing to use a certain operating system. Also don’t forget that when something costs about 400 dollars, you want to make sure people have good things to say about it. They will also be able to tell me if they can use their old hardware with it or if they went out and wasted their money on new hardware.
The first problem with Windows Vista is that it is having trouble supporting a lot of hardware. You would think that by now Microsoft would have made sure every kind of hardware was compatible with their OS. However they have not done this and people do not want to go out and spends hundred of dollars on new drives, printers, scanner, etc. If I wanted to go and use one of those old printers where you have to tear the holes in the side of the paper off after you print it I should be able to. I should be able to use an old printer that would wake up the neighborhood and print at 1 page every 3 minutes. Let’s also not forget about software and how you have to go out and buy the same thing but have it be compatible with Vista. Operating Systems should be backward compatible. If I get Vista then any program that worked for a previous Windows OS should work.
Now another problem with Vista is that the upgrade is a joke. My father bought the Vista Ultimate upgrade and when he did this he had all kinds of problems with it. The solution he was told is that you have to go out and buy the full blown version of Vista Ultimate. He had already spent 260 dollars to get the upgrade and then they expected him to spend another 400 and get the full blown version. An upgrade is meant so you do not have to do that. He ended up going out and just getting a Mac because he was tired of the BS. Meanwhile he gave me the Vista Upgrade and it has been sitting in my desk because I am afraid to put it in. Not to mention that a lot of people who have put in Vista have become so frustrated with it that they have actually downgraded back to XP. Usually when people downgrade that is not a good sign.
Now as of right now I am happy with my computer. I run XP professional and I love it. However I want to get a laptop. With all the negative things I have heard about Vista I am leaning towards having this laptop be a Mac. I’m not sold on Mac but the reason I would want a laptop would simply be for internet, typing, and video editing. I have heard all good things about Macs and video editing which is why I would lean towards getting it. When the time comes to make the choice I think I will end up trying out Mac. However I do still want my desktop computer to be a PC because there are a lot more programs out for a PC then a Mac. Oh and another thing that would pull me away from getting a Mac are the retarded commercials they have.
Anyways that’s all I am going to write about and I said I was going to do another rant and I actually stood by what I said. Also don’t bitch at me because I said I was going to do it the same day. I went to sleep and then woke up and haven’t gone to sleep again so I am still doing what I said I was going to do in a way. Trust me just go with me here because I could always just edit the time I posted this and say it was the same day. Anyways I’m rambling so I’ll just end it.

It's a Big One
It’s a Big One
Alright I got a lot of things I want to cover in this rant and I may do it all in one sit in or I may do some today and the rest… well… today. Enough of me trying to make an insightful and good intro and time to just get right to it.
Have you ever watched something on TV, or a movie, or tried some product and thought “wow I really like this.” You like whatever this thing and then you turn on and see reviews of it. The best example of this is when you’re watching some TV show or a movie. You get done with it and you really enjoyed it. So some people may go online or look in message boards and see what other people thought of it. All of a sudden people are talking about what was wrong with this and start criticizing it. Then you watch it again and look at it differently because someone went out there and mentioned its flaws. So all of a sudden the show you enjoyed watching and had fun watching it is all of a sudden not as good because you’re starting to overanalyze it. If you enjoy something then you shouldn’t let someone’s opinion change what you thought.
There are a lot of TV shows I watch. I used to watch this show called Boston Public which was based in a Boston Public School (which I think is meant to be English High). People would criticize this show for being “too over the top.” Let’s try to understand something for a second. The show is meant to be over the top because if it really was more realistic then it would be boring and not as entertaining. If you have a school where a teacher is getting stabbed, the principle was arrested on suspicion of murder, a kid was caught with a book saying how he wanted to kill everyone, the whole school is having a race war, oh and a teacher is having an affair with a student. That school would probably be shut down. However what made it realistic is you can say to yourself “this stuff could happen.” Of course all these things are not going to happen in 1 school but bits and pieces of it or one of the occurrences could happen in a school.
Another kind of show that really puts things over the top is “Americas Most Wanted.” That show has helped catch people; however the way they tell the stories they are trying to make it as suspenseful and dramatic as possible. This show is meant to have to purposes and that is to help catch these people and to get the ratings. If you made a show like that and it wasn’t as flashy or over the top then it would not get the kind of rating you would be looking for in a show. You can say the same about “Unsolved Mysteries” also.
The other day I was looking online and noticed a headline about a meteor shower. Now the actual story wasn’t what got me thinking. What got me thinking was that the last time there was some meteor shower people around here went up to a huge park and went out like a bunch of idiots as 4am thinking they were going to see home amazing light show. They forgot about one simple factor: You live in the city. When you live in the city you are not going to see many stars or see much of the sky. All the lights from the city prevent you from seeing all that. So if you live in the city and think that by traveling up on some hill you are going to be able to see something amazing then you are wrong. One other thing is that if you live in the city and you get a telescope. I hope your intentions are to spy on people with it and not to actually look up at the sky because if you are then you are wasting your money.
The other day I was thinking about video games and how people have put so much emphasis on the graphics. Graphics in a game are only meant for eye candy and some people would rather play some crappy games that have amazing graphics then some good game that was mediocre graphics. Graphics are really not that important because the point of video games is to have fun playing them. It seems that the simplest of games are always the most fun and a lot of the older ones. I remember playing games like Mario or Sonic for the Nintendo and Genesis and they were fun games. It seemed that back then people didn’t even think about graphics and it was all about how fun the game was. Don’t forget about Tetris which people still play today and enjoy. If you have fun playing some game and then graphic suck then it should not matter. A lot of people are buying the Nintendo Wii because they want to be able to play those old classic games, not to mention X-Box has a new thing where you can download classic games. So many people seem to be buying these systems because they want to play those old games.
Now while I am on the topic of video games. It seems that a lot of people will play a game and they won’t even really have fun playing it. However they won’t stop because they are obsessed with beating this game. Meanwhile the whole time they are playing this game they are getting pissed off and raising their blood pressure. Then they finally beat the game and act all happy. Ok so this game was worth hours of stress and anger to get that couple minutes of actual enjoyment. However you may not even get the enjoyment cause after the game is over and you’re dying to see the end and it sucks. So not only did you not have fun playing the game but you didn’t even get that feeling of fulfillment when you beat it. When I play games I play them to relax me and not to get me all stressed out and pissed.
Have you ever known someone who will go out and see or buy a movie just because it has some girl in it? I could never really understand this because they would even say the movie sucks but be like “well the only reason I got it was because the girl is hot.” Are these guys going to go and jerk off to this movie like it is some porn? If your only reason for wanting to buy or watch some movie is so you can gawk at some girl, then save yourself some money and go download some porn. I actually had a friend who went and bought “Brokeback Mountain” because it showed these girls get naked. Then another one of my friends would get a movie he never even heard of and the only reason he bought it was because he heard this girl got naked. Again, if that is the only reason you are going to get that movie then get porn.
Alright I told you that this was going to be a big one but I still haven’t even talked about everything that I was planning on talking about but I’m going to wait and probably do that tomorrow. I would say what I am going to write about but then I would be obligated to write about that and I don’t write like that. So have a good night or morning or whatever the hell it is

Alright I feel like doing one of me “In the News” Rants. What I do in these is I go to sites like Fox news, CNN, MSN, and local websites and see what kind of things are going on in the world and comment on them. Usually I look for Ironic things or something that is just worth talking about. The actual stories are in italics so enjoy.
Atlanta School Board Unanimously Bans Saggy Pants
ATLANTA — The Atlanta school board voted unanimously Monday night to ban students from wearing sagging pants that expose underwear — a youthful fashion statement deemed to defy classroom decorum.
The 8-0 vote, with one member absent, actually clarified an existing rule in the student handbook requiring that dress "be modest and of appropriate length and fit," said Jim Manguno, spokesman for the district of almost 50,000 students.
It calls for inserting the words "sagging shorts or trousers" in a section forbidding "extremely tight clothing or baggy oversize clothing," Manguno said.
It will still be up to the principals of the district's 96 schools to determine when there is a violation and what to do about it, he said.
The response likely would progress from a warning up to a hearing before a student judicial panel for repeated violations.
Now I have a question about this. Why didn’t this happen a while ago? Oh wait I got an even better question. Why does this even need to happen? You would imagine these kids would have the decency and some class to dress appropriately. I’m not going to go and say that the students should come in with a suit, but dress in a way where people are going to respect you. No one is going to respect some kid who is going down the street with his ass showing and people are supposed to see them walk by and think “this is the future of our country.” Now some people may look and think “well your 22 so you don’t know how that is.” Let’s get one thing straight. I am only 22 years old, which means I am about 4 years removed from high school, so I’m not exactly out of touch with this. However, even back then when I was in high school I thought the kids who dressed like that were retarded then and I still think they are retarded. What’s even funnier is I went to a private school where there was a uniform, but when some people got the chance to dress like they got their clothes from some dump they did.
Alright I know I said I was going to do this whole in the news thing, but I want to talk about something else. My rant, my rules so I don’t have to show any kind of order in it if I don’t want to. Today I went down to the mall with my friend and I just wanted to get a hoodie. It is annoying when every shirt you have makes you look some walking advertisement. Every shirt says Nike, GAP, Calvin Klein and all kinds of stuff. All I want was a solid color sweat shirt, but those were nowhere to be seen. I was looking in there for 2-3 hours trying to find the right one. In due time I found one and it was a Tommy Hilfiger zipper hoodie. This thing only had a small logo on the shirt which is barely noticeable. Anyways I look at the price… and am shocked when I see this sweatshirt is 110 dollars. Luckily it was on sale so I got 30 dollars off. So the shirt would cost me 80 dollars. After looking around this long and then seeing how damn comfortable it was I just said fuck it and bought the sweatshirt. Although I do admit it is an awesome hoodie. Like this thing makes those Aeropostle hoodies feel like sandpaper. So I spent 80 bucks on a hoodie. I’m not going to comment on what else I bought though because it has nothing to do with that.
Students Rebuked Over Virginia Tech Shooting Victim Halloween Costumes
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Photos of two Penn State students dressed up as victims of the Virginia Tech massacre for Halloween prompted a rebuke from the university this week.
The pictures, which show the students wearing Virginia Tech shirts covered in bullet holes and fake blood, recently surfaced on Facebook.com, a social networking site. The students were not disciplined, but Penn State condemned the actions in a letter sent to Virginia Tech officials.
"We're appalled that these individuals would display this level of insensitivity and lack of common decency by dressing up in this manner," the statement said. "The fact that one of the individuals is actually from Virginia makes it even more difficult to understand."
A Penn State spokeswoman, Lisa Powers, said the school has identified the students in the photos, but would not release their names.
The students will not face university discipline, Powers said. Punishment would violate their free-speech rights, she added.
Penn State students were among many across the country who raised money and held memorial services to commemorate the victims of the April 16 shootings, in which Virginia Tech student Seung-Hui Cho fatally shot 32 people before killing himself. The rampage prompted universities nationwide to re-evaluate their emergency response plans.
Why are people so damn stupid? I remember a few months ago there was a guy who was going around dressing up like Osama around the same area where the president was and he was doing it as a “joke.” This idiot who did this is just as stupid. Nun Repeats Curse Words in Telling Students Not to Use Them
GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. — Sister Kathy Avery won't put up with swearing on the playground at her school, and she's not above repeating the offending language to make sure everyone understands which words she won't tolerate.
The principal of St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic School had students stay after a Mass last month and informed the fifth- through eighth-graders that she has a zero-tolerance policy for cursing.
Just in case anyone wasn't sure what she was talking about, Avery read off a list of the very words and phrases that she was banning.
"It got a little quiet in church" during her talk, she told the Detroit Free Press.
Some parents were shocked, but others applauded, the newspaper said.
"In a way you would think a nun would shy away from something like that, but she's very open with the children, very clear in her messages," said Margaret Roache, chairperson of the school commission.
Roache's sixth-grade son was there when Avery read the list of banned words.
"When I asked him to give me a sample of it, he said 'Oh, no, I can't say it!"' Roache said. "I thought it was great."
A representative of the Archdiocese of Detroit declined to comment Sunday.
Cuss words aren't the only things that set Avery off. She's also banned the words "stupid" and "boring."
I only got one quick thing so say about this and that is: Is this really newsworthy?
Fan Falls to His Death During Football Game
SAN FRANCISCO — A fan fell to his death from a high wall at Monster Park during the game between the San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
A team spokeswoman says the fan was sitting on a wall on the concourse level of the park when he fell about 20 feet.
Team vice president Lisa Lang says paramedics responded immediately and treated the fan, but he died about 30 minutes later.
Police say the man was 31 years old, and that they are treating the incident as an accident. Authorities did not release any more details about the man.
So this guy was sitting a wall in which behind it was a 20 foot drop onto concrete. Why would you sit on this wall or do whatever you were doing when you could easily fall to your death? The guy decided to act all happy and lean back on this wall and then he fell to his death and quite frankly, I don’t feel bad for him. However this also got me thinking about something else. The Red Sox put those seats on the green monster a few years ago and I see people lean forward on that thing so often. I swear it is only a matter of time before some idiot leans forward trying to catch a ball and then falls 60 feet to his death. My only concern on that is if the Sox are winning I hope it is already passed the 5th inning because they will probably call the game instead of just scraping his dead ass off the field and continuing.

The principal of St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic School had students stay after a Mass last month and informed the fifth- through eighth-graders that she has a zero-tolerance policy for cursing.
Just in case anyone wasn't sure what she was talking about, Avery read off a list of the very words and phrases that she was banning.
"It got a little quiet in church" during her talk, she told the Detroit Free Press.
Some parents were shocked, but others applauded, the newspaper said.
"In a way you would think a nun would shy away from something like that, but she's very open with the children, very clear in her messages," said Margaret Roache, chairperson of the school commission.
Roache's sixth-grade son was there when Avery read the list of banned words.
"When I asked him to give me a sample of it, he said 'Oh, no, I can't say it!"' Roache said. "I thought it was great."
A representative of the Archdiocese of Detroit declined to comment Sunday.
Cuss words aren't the only things that set Avery off. She's also banned the words "stupid" and "boring."
I only got one quick thing so say about this and that is: Is this really newsworthy?
Fan Falls to His Death During Football Game
SAN FRANCISCO — A fan fell to his death from a high wall at Monster Park during the game between the San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
A team spokeswoman says the fan was sitting on a wall on the concourse level of the park when he fell about 20 feet.
Team vice president Lisa Lang says paramedics responded immediately and treated the fan, but he died about 30 minutes later.
Police say the man was 31 years old, and that they are treating the incident as an accident. Authorities did not release any more details about the man.
So this guy was sitting a wall in which behind it was a 20 foot drop onto concrete. Why would you sit on this wall or do whatever you were doing when you could easily fall to your death? The guy decided to act all happy and lean back on this wall and then he fell to his death and quite frankly, I don’t feel bad for him. However this also got me thinking about something else. The Red Sox put those seats on the green monster a few years ago and I see people lean forward on that thing so often. I swear it is only a matter of time before some idiot leans forward trying to catch a ball and then falls 60 feet to his death. My only concern on that is if the Sox are winning I hope it is already passed the 5th inning because they will probably call the game instead of just scraping his dead ass off the field and continuing.

ATLANTA -- After Michael Vick was sentenced to nearly two years in prison, two of his former Atlanta Falcons teammates sent messages to the disgraced quarterback in Monday night's 34-14 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
Cornerback DeAngelo Hall, who played with Vick at Virginia Tech and in Atlanta, ran onto the field holding up a poster of Vick and played the game with "MV7" written on the shade under both eyes.
Late in the first quarter, receiver Roddy White pulled up his jersey after hauling in a 33-yard touchdown pass from Chris Redman, revealing a black shirt with the words "Free Mike Vick" in white letters.
"That was homemade. I did that myself," White said. "It ain't too much to say, you know. The team misses him and we really need him this season. There ain't too much more to say about it."
White appeared to be fighting his emotions.
Asked if the day had been emotional, White said simply "Yeah," before ending the interview.
Hall said the players wanted to show they were thinking of Vick as more than a football player.
"We did that for the simple fact we wanted to let him know we're still thinking about him," Hall said. "That was my personal thing for doing it.
"I don't want to say this franchise doesn't want to acknowledge the situation, but that's kind of the way you feel. All his pictures all gone, no more jerseys, no more nothing. We just wanted to let him know we're still thinking about him. We care about him as a human being, not just as a football player and as a running quarterback."
Vick was sentenced to 23 months in federal prison earlier Monday on his guilty plea to dogfighting changes. He will miss at least two full seasons while serving his time and is unlikely to play again for the Falcons.
Hall said he wanted to send "a tribute to Mike" but wanted to avoid any thought the Vick sentencing affected the team's play.
"We had a game to play and we had to do what we needed to do and it didn't have anything to do with Mike," Hall said. "Mike took the blame for the losses when he was here, and he didn't throw the way y'all wanted him to throw or didn't complete as many passes.
"We're still blaming him for losses we're getting as a team and he's not even here to play. It's a catch-22 he can't win. I just wanted to let him know we're still thinking about him and we still love him."
Now this is fucking retarded. You are seriousely going to tell me, that even after was convicted his teammates are going to go and support him? Oh wait I'm sorry former teammates. This is the problem with the NFL and with sports in general. No matter what a guy does, there seem to always be these teammates who come up and support him and make excuses for him. OH OPRAH (and more)
Again I am going to do another rant and it’s not going to be like the last one I did that made no sense at all. This will be about different things and about a few different topics. So let’s start off this rant.
I’m watching the news right now and I saw something where Oprah was campaigning for Barrack Obama. The only reason I see Oprah being so involved in Obama is because he is black. Hey newsflash, Obama is only half black and the other half is white. Now perhaps this isn’t the only reason she is supporting him, but you would be naïve to think it is not a factor. The main problem with Oprah going and campaigning with him is that she gets more attention then he does. Does Obama really want some celebrity talk show host to outdo him? Don’t give me that crap that Oprah is more then that. She is a talk show host who has celebrity status and that is it. She is not some hero amongst people or some kind of saint. Oprah is simply an over hyped talk show personality. If all the attention is going to Oprah and Obama is in the back, then tell me what kind of leader that makes Obama look like? I’m sure you people already know the answer.
Something else that pisses me off is these people who have been republicans for years and then all of a sudden turn their back on the party because of Bush. Here is a quick newsflash for you: Most republicans do not support Bush and the decisions he has made. The facts are that these people, who changed their party, are embarrassed because they believe that my being a republican that means Bush is their buddy. It’s not a sin to criticize your party, if anything it is a good thing because it strengthens the GOP.
I hate it when I go somewhere or someone cooks me some kind of food and puts something in it that they know that I do not like. I do not like mushrooms in my food, so if you want to cook me something, then don’t have any mushrooms in it or at least take the mushroom outs. Then knowing I don’t like mushroom or whatever the hell other food it is. They get all pissed off when I don’t eat it. If I don’t like something then I am not going to eat it and I’m not going to apologize for not eating it. I didn’t like it… tough shit I’ll go out and get something else.
The other day I was thinking about news. Some people go to me and say “CNN is fair and balanced” and then others go and say “Fox news is fair and balanced.” The fact of the matter is that there is no such thing as fair and balanced news. If you lean more to the left then you’re going to think that the liberal news is the fair and balanced one, and if you lean to the right you’re going to think the conservative news is the fair and balanced one. The only news out there that you could is somewhat fair and balanced could be BBC, but they are not from the United States so they really don’t have much of a personal agenda with American politics. I’ve only seen BBC once but I have heard people from both sides tell me it is fair and balanced,
Paris Hilton wants a baby. Do I really need to say anything else on this?

I would also like to mention that I am strongly considering doing a video rant, but I just got to find an idea in order to get the best production possible out of it. Warning: I may have been on something while writing this
Free Writing
Alright I am deciding to do a little bit of free writing now. I haven’t the slightest idea what I am going to end up writing about so let me just let it roll right off my fingers.
Alright I can’t stand those girls who don’t have a single flaw on them and go around saying how ugly they are. This is annoying because it just seems like these girls want more attention then what they already have. When I see girls like this I will usually give them the cold shoulder and make them think I do not notice them. This is something these girls hate because they crave the attention to be looked at. I will never tell these girls that they are hot because that would just feed their already huge ego.
However the girls that are good looking and know it are just as annoying. These girls that walk around like their shit doesn’t stink. These girls are not much different then the girls who think they are ugly. It’s pretty much the same kind of girl except one tries to play the ugly card and the other plays the, I’m too hot for you card.
Then there are those girls who are ugly as anything and had their parents lie to them and tell them how beautiful they are. This goes for guys as well because their parents talked about how they are so handsome and beautiful. Here is a tip for you: In most cases, if a mother or father is telling their kids how beautiful they are, and then chances are they have a face only a mother or father could love.
As of late I am starting to wonder if people who I never really looked at as my friend could be my friend. I am one to always be very careful how I pick my friends and a lot of the times I don’t even realize that someone is my friend. However someone being your friend is not measured by how long you know someone, it’s not even measured by how many common interests that you have. A friend is someone who when times get tough for you or when they move somewhere where you actually got to work in order to keep a relationship with them, you stay their friend. You keep on talking to them even if it is just for a little bit of time a week or even a month. In this day and age people move to a new state and far away a lot more often. Your friends are the ones who will always stay in contact. Also if for some reason contact is lost beyond your control, when you meet up with them again you go right back to where you left off.
You know I was looking the other day at some of the top subscribers on you tube. A lot of what the best people talk about is the things I talk about. I could tell you right now that if I started doing my rants on youtube and doing them as a video then I would get a ton of subscriptions. Plus all the idiots I know who are too lazy to read what I write would watch my videos. But do I really want idiots watching me?

Now I have lately gone back to fucking with people in yahoo in chat room and here are a few things I have discovered:
